So close now! Just taking a break from packing up my dorm room to daydream about London. It’s funny, because now that I sit down and think about it, I realize that most of my imaginings of London come from books. Books like, Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, Jean Plaidy’s Mary, Queen of France and Elizabeth Goudge’s The Child from the Sea. Fictional books that are all set in the past.
This could be a problem.
Between now and when I board the plane, my goal is to get my hands on Notes from a Small Island by Bill Bryson. I need to update my current image which looks something like this:

But at the same time, I hope I can find my literary London. I’ll be searching for it in the ancient architecture, beautiful gardens and British traditions. And King’s Cross Station.

You are cute. I would recommend a book to update your image of London, but I only read science fiction. And that is probably not accurate.
